I’m wife to a handsome flyboy, Mom to three spirited children, a clinical counselor by profession, and explorer at heart. I love learning about far away lands and different cultures and have the unique opportunity to call Belgium our “home base” for the next few years (previously it was Hungary, hence all the great Hungarian travel content!). I plan to preserve everything we experience here as a keepsake for our kiddos, and share travel advice and inspiration as much as possible!

🇧🇪 Have you heard of DouDou? No, it has nothing to do with poo…instead, gold and good luck are involved! For the last 700 years, the Ducasse de Mons (or Doudou) has taken place in the spring on Trinity Sunday in Mons, Belgium. This unique superstitious festival originated in 1349 during a plague - the golden Shrine of Waltrude was marched through the streets in hopes that it would stop the disease, and legend says, after the procession, the plague miraculously ceased!

🇭🇺 Pécs is my second favorite city in Hungary. Have you heard of it? Pécs (pronounced “pay-ch”) is a beautiful and diverse college town nestled in the southern hills on the border of Croatia and Hungary and surrounded by the nearby wine region of Villainy. It has fascinating history with a mixture of Turkish, Jewish and Catholic influence, great hiking nearby, amazing food, and tons of family-friendly activities. Here are my must-see and do things in Pécs…for more, see link in bio!

🇪🇪 Terrific Tallinn! Have you been to the capital of Estonia? This charming city has a relaxed medieval vibe, with history dating back to the 13th century. Did you know for hundreds of years Tallinn was named Reval?
