💦 There’s a reason Claude Monet painted more than 90 paintings of Étretat - it’s an amazing place! The landscape is full of cliffs, caves, sweeping vistas and white arches that rival any coastline. Hot tip: arrive before 11am if you want parking in the beach lot - or earlier if it’s summer time! Also, want to find the hole in cave overlooking the southern cliffs? You have to hike about 30 minutes to reach the “eye of the panda” (see google maps). It’s incredible!
🕰️ The Gros Horloge is one of the main attractions in the charming small city of Rouen in Normandy, France. Half timber homes feel like a hug as you wander the streets. Claude Monet was a big fan of Rouen, and painted the intricate details of the great Notre Dame de Rouen cathedral many times.
🇫🇷 HIDDEN GEM DESTINATIONS PART 9: Rouen, France!
🐓 I think she fell asleep on her face?! Do your chickens do this?🤣 Pumpkin loves her pampering, and we love you Pumpkin!
🇫🇷 💦 WHERE IS THIS? Why, it’s Étretat, off the coast of Normandy in northern France of course! There’s a reason Monet fell in love with this place - the white cliffs, the pebble beaches, the natural arches and charming town - but I fell in love with these views! I have visited three times (Nov, Feb, Oct) and each time the colors blow me away, along with the wind! To reach this spot you have to hike along the cliffs for about 30 minutes to the “Eye of the Panda.” It’s not visible from the trail - instead you walk down into a cliff top cave for these views. It’s so worth it! Highlights if Étretat and more to come - follow along @homebasebelgium for travel tips, itineraries and family adventure inspo!
